I love these artists SO much. The Steads; Philip C. Stead and Erin E. Stead are a writer illustrator husband and wife dynamic duo that make the best books. They really touch your heart and the artwork is so delicate and beautiful.
I was at the new Amazon store downtown with my kids when I saw “Music for Mister Moon” and after a quick flip through, I knew it was something we would all enjoy. I did put it back on the shelf but I felt this work was familiar and I made a note to research it when I got home. I did do my research and I quickly knew why it was so familiar, this is the same duo that created “A Sick Day for Amos McGee”. This book is a Caldecott winner and the work and story about a zoo keeper who gets sick and what the animals do when they find out. So so SWEET! This video is a book review with thoughts and visuals about more of their wonderful books.
So delightful and I hope you add at least one of their books to your library. Especially “The Only Fish in the Sea”, the personalities of the main characters are full and vibrant and the secondary story of the monkeys in the background is hilarious. Joy to read.
