Today’s question is “Have you thought of illustrating a children’s book?” Yes I have actually and I did! When I started creating more polished work, I started getting interested in digital art but it was SO hard to find teaching resources back in the day. I couldn’t find classes, tutorials, step by steps, etc. I started focusing on Adobe Illustrator and I eventually got to a level where I knew what I was doing and I loved the results. Then I was working on my writing and I thought about learning the alphabet because I love kid’s literature and that is my focus.
So I worked through every letter of the alphabet, focusing on every sound every letter can make. This small idea turned into a published book called Queen Quail is Quiet! This book was so fun to make and my kids still request it as a bedtime story and they are 5 and 8. I think “Lemon licks the lollipop” is my favorite spread in the book. :)
I can’t wait to write more, loved working on this book! Let me know your favorite children’s book down below!
