Q&A - How Am I Creative in the Days of Quarantine?

IMG_7373_polarr-(W).jpeg

Hey hey , how you be?  Honestly, I am hanging in there.  Like you, this is a lot to juggle at this time.  I’m married, hubs works from home for now  (thank goodness), we have two kids 5 and 8 that we need to make school decisions for, this home needs to be maintained for sanity and a clear mind, etc, etc.

So how do I handle all of that while being creative as well? Just like the other things, I prioritize it and try to put it in proper perspective.  Meaning that I just start with play. Shapes. Marks on the page. Then I see what happens. Usually taking the pressure off helps and then before I know it I am flowing and things are coming together.

Creativity cannot be tamed. Just keep getting inspired, reading, trying new things and then your creative arsenal will be filled with little goodies you weren’t even expecting. You might be pleasantly surprised.

This is what works for me, even with the crazy times we are in at the moment. Hope you are well and continue to!

Talk to you soon!

Interested in painting too? I have a watercolor guide with videos here! I share tips, tricks I wish I knew when I started painting.

Erika
